End of Year Message

We are approaching the end of another year, important for PetrOmbudsman in terms of strengthening its role within the company and the relationships it has developed with management and employees. If in previous years there may have been concerns regarding the presence and purpose of this department within the organization, in 2016 we felt that we have truly became a dialogue partner and advisor for you and for the company, both in specific matters and at strategic level.

The concerns managed by us have become more complex, raising issues that required in-depth analysis and a structured approach, often based on well-defined steps, and involving a large number of dialogue partners to identify solutions for amiable resolution. With your help, we managed to discover elements of a systemic nature, which were presented to management with our recommendations for improving the organizational climate. We could not have achieved any of this if it had not been for your availability for dialogue and constructive thinking, focused on solutions and results maximization. Our good cooperation with the formal structures of the company also had an important role in this process.

2016 was an intense year, with many challenges for the PetrOmbudsman team. We recorded a significant number of cases (700) related to the activity in our company and resulting in the creation of a working environment that is as pleasant as possible and the adaptation to the permanent changes that have occurred inherently in the organization and in each of our lives.

We were involved in many beautiful projects, so as to enter into dialogue with you and to be able to know each other better. With the occasion of NEO sessions we met with new employees within the company, but also with senior Petrom employees, at Knowledge Fair events, focused on transferring our internal knowledge. We have had many discussions and workshops focused on debating the effective management of a change process or challenging situations, that may degenerate into conflict, if not carefully handled. We appreciated your active participation and involvement. Thank you also for the open approach and interest regarding the blog posts written by PetrOmbudsman this year. The large number of comments and visitors which we received was a culmination of our efforts to develop subjects of interest to the life of an organization.

Given the role of an Organizational Ombudsman department within a company, we tried to promote the importance of having such a structure and also the PetrOmbudsman model, as a pioneer in the field, through interviews for external publications of national or international nature ("Legal Magazine" and "The Voice ") and by participating to events of the kind outside the organization (e.g. Labour Law Forum).

None of what we have achieved this year wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the management, the social dialogue partners and the directors of various Assets or of specific compartments within the formal structures of the company. We also wish to thank our PetrOmbudsman Ambassadors and Advisory Committee members, who supported our efforts to become more visible in the company and all the actions we have conducted.

We intend to remain by your side in the coming year and to continue the beautiful collaboration that we developed in 2017. We are available whenever you feel the need to consult with an Ombudsman or just for someone to listen to you under complete confidentiality.
