European Ombudsman Meeting in Bucharest
On the 27-28th of October, the first European Ombudsmen Meeting organized in Romania and in Central-Eastern Europe took place.
This type of meeting is held twice a year, being organized by the various international companies and organizations in which the European ombudsmen carry out their activity. The purpose of the meeting is to exchange experiences and best practices, to support the participants to raise awareness on this profession, as well as networking, so that the European Ombudsmen can become more efficient catalysts for change within their organizations.
The presence of Ombudsmen from different European countries in Bucharest has been a great occasion to promote our organization, the participants being informed regarding the activities of OMV Petrom, while having the opportunity to visit the Petrobrazi refinery.
The opening of the meeting was marked by the important moment of Mrs. Mariana Gheorghe’s presence, CEO of OMV Petrom, who presented the company’s strategic directions, the management’s support for improving the dialogue with employees through PetrOmbudsman and entered into dialogue with the participants.
Continuing the meeting, Mr. Mihai Berinde, Director of PetrOmbudsman, presented the implementation of the project in OMV Petrom, with an increased focus on the underlying principles of PetrOmbudsman activity (independence, privacy, informality, neutrality) and on the actions taken to harmonize them with the company values.
This meeting was a great opportunity to integrate PetrOmbudsman into the European Ombudsman family and it was also a great step forward for its international visibility. Furthermore, by participating in debates on various specialty topics, PetrOmbudsman team had the opportunity to benefit from the experience gained on European level in this field and to get to know and apply in its practice specific profession mechanisms.
At the same time,
organizing this meeting in Petrom City represented a major opportunity for
placing OMV Petrom on the map of responsible companies that promote best
practices of the Corporate Ombudsman profession!
